Pickin' and Paddlin' Demo and Concert in Bend Tomorrow!

Pickin' and Paddlin' DATE: Wednesday, August 26th TIME: FREE boat demos from 4:00-7:00 PM, then enjoy music from the Moon Mountain Ramblers from 7:00-9:00 LOCATION: on the back lawn at Alder Creek Kayak and Canoe, Bend 805 SW Industrial Way (right next to the river upstream of the Colorado Street Bridge) The third and final concert in our Pickin' and Paddlin' series will take place on Wednesday, August 26th. We're excited to feature music from the Moon Mountain Ramblers this month! For the third year in a row the Moon Mountain Ramblers have been voted "Bend's Best Band" by readers of The Source. We're stoked they are coming to close out our first ever summer concert series here at Alder Creek! The MMR are known for their "high-desert soulgrass." Built on more of a jazz and blues, than bluegrass foundation, the combo likes to embark on polyphonic sprees and improvisational interludes." (Joe Ross, music writer Bluegrass Now) This is a family-friendly event, the third in a series of three that have taken place on the last Wednesday of June, July and August and featured some great local musicians. The event will start with free boat demos from 4:00-7:00 PM. Representatives from Eddyline Kayaks, Esquif Canoes, Swift Paddles, Bending Branches and Aquabound Paddles will be available to answer questions about their goods; Alder Creek's huge demo fleet of more than 50 boats will also be available and our staff will be on hand to help you. After boating the plan is to kick back on the lawn and enjoy the music from 7:00-9:00ish. During this event we will also be raising awareness and funds to help the Bend Paddle Trail Alliance build a whitewater park in our backyard!
